1984-2000 "Gone But Not Forgotten"

April 2016 – Facebook

Hi Everyone

I’ve posted some new photo’s and there are some stories on our Facebook page. Though I know many people may not have Facebook, if you know someone that does, take a trip over to the Lulu’s Roadhouse Facebook page to see some great photo’s.  And maybe even someone you recognize.

I will do my best to be more diligent about updating this blog and hope to add some more photo’s soon too.

Remember, it’s not too late to send me your photo’s if you’d like them included in the Lulu’s Roadhouse book, along with any stories you may want to share.

Cheers Everyone!

What year and what were the band lineup for the night we went to LULU’s for the 12hrs with all the retro bands from the 60’s and 70’s including Paul Revere and the Raiders. People do not believe what a great night and great bands to see and hear. I am 63 now and that was still the best show I have ever seen. Cheers from Kanata.

    • Hi William
Unfortunately, I don’t have all the dates and such as I was only 15 at the time Lulu’s was in it’s hayday. Are you on Facebook? If so, check out the Lulu’s Roadhouse page. You can post your question there. I will post it as well to see if anyone remembers. Do you know if it was in the 80s or 90s.
Glad to hear you have such fond memories. I got in when I was 15 and got to see Del Shannon which was great. It was a wonderful place that had many fantastic acts.

    • Hi Again William. I reached out to the fans of Lulu’s on the Facebook page and these are the responses I received.
From Randy Stewart (was Randy Stewart and the Roadhouse Band from the day Lulu’s opened in 1984 until he left in 1988. ” I recall Mark Lindsay- between 84 & 88- but not PR & the Raiders. I think I’d remember that- as they were one of my 60s faves & me & the Thanes opened for them at the Kit. aud- 67? for 5 or 6,000 people. They let us use their PA. We borrowed every amp we could get- hooked them up in series- trying to be loud enough. They didn’t mic amps then etc They were nice. There was another act on the show- I think it was either Chad & Jeremy or Peter & Gordon? Anybody out there know the right date? who the other act was? Anyone have a poster? ” I don’t recall a 12 hr. show with the Raiders April 3, 1984 (opening night) till I left Oct. 88- 4 1/2 yrs. approx.”

Larry Douglas who played in the original Lulu’s Roadhouse band with Randy said this, ” The Raiders aren’t listed in the 5th Anniversary book, but Mark Lindsay (original lead singer) is, having played there in early ’86.No mistaking him for the Raiders though because Paul Revere wore his trademark costumes until he quit playing, down in Branson.”
I hope this helps a little William and glad you enjoyed your time there!
      Take Care,
